I’m Charles Livesay, founder of Indian Kreek Cattle Company.
As a fourth generation cattle farmer, born and raised on a cattle farm, I’ve always had a passion for raising cattle.
Several years ago, we bought a few bottle calves because we wanted our children to experience bottle feeding. (It’s pretty entertaining to watch a 5 year old bottle feeding an eager, hungry, baby calf). After raising the calves, we started buying bred cows.
Our two children help on the farm when they can. My wife Jennifer and I feel that a farm is still one of the best places to raise a family. There are so many of life’s lessons that can be learned when you grow up on a farm: from a strong work ethic to an understanding of how to handle, take care of and respect the livestock. Our little girl has a pony named “Princess” she enjoys riding. Our son learned how to drive a tractor this summer.
These are just a few of the things that this blessed way of life has afforded us.
